How do I apply to become a Carer with Nannies by Nature and what documents do I need?

Click 'Join the Team' and complete the initial application form. You'll need: current Working with Children Check, Australian Police Check, up-to-date First Aid and CPR certificates, at least two professional references, and your resume/CV.

What is the screening process?

The screening process includes background and reference checks, screening form completion, verification of qualifications and identity documents, and a Zoom interview.

When am I officially registered as a Carer?

You'll become a registered Carer once you've successfully completed the screening process and received confirmation from our team. You'll then gain full access to the Carer Portal.

Can I choose my own hours and rates?

Yes! In your profile, you can edit your availability and work locations. Regarding rates, we have a rates table in which you can view the criteria for each rate based on your experience, qualifications, and type of role.

How is payment handled?

Payments are made directly from the family to you, as they are your employers. You must hold a valid ABN (Australian Business Number) for this purpose, as payments are considered taxable income.

How It Works

Nannies by Nature makes it simple for our carers to find casual or permanent jobs with families who value quality and trust. We’re here to support you every step of the way, from finding the ideal match to ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience.

Step 01

1. Start Your Application

Click “Join Now' and select 'Carer Application'. Complete the Form so we can learn more about your experience, availability, and the types of roles you’re seeking.

2. Attend Your Zoom call

Once we review your application, we’ll invite you to a Zoom call to get to know you and ensure we’re the right fit for each other.

3. Create Your Account

If you progress after the Zoom call, you’ll receive an email to create your online profile

4. Complete Your Profile & Upload Documents

Log into the portal and upload all required documents (ID, checks, certifications, references, résumé, etc.). Once your profile is complete, we begin the Screening Process.

5. Become a Registered Carer

After you successfully pass our screening process, you’ll officially become a Registered Carer with Nannies by Nature! You can manage your profile, availability, and apply for jobs — all in one easy place.

Criteria

Bring warmth, positivity, and a love for children
Communicate well and build trusting relationships
Stay organised, energetic, and professional
Experience with a variety of ages, routines, and developmental stages
Ability to follow family and children's routines and align with parenting styles

Requirements

Be 21 years or older
Hold a
- current paid Working With Children Check,
- current Australian Police Check, and
- up-to-date First Aid and CPR certificates.
Have a minimum of:
- 2 years relevant child care experience, and
- 2 recent contactable references.
Undergo our multi-stage screening process

Visa holders and non-smokers are welcome to apply

If you haven't got a Police Check and First aid, but looking to get/in the process, please apply and we can start your applcation with those pending. If less than 4 years of experience but with glowing references, you may still be considered so please apply.

Carer Expectations

As part of the Nannies by Nature community, we ask that you:

Stay Current
Keep your WWCC, First Aid, CPR, Police Check and other required documents up to date, and update your profile and availability when things change.
Be Professional & reliable
Aim to arrive 10 min prior to start time, communicate clearly, give as much notice as you can if you’re unwell or can’t attend, and give reasonable notice for planned leave. The way you show up reflects on you and on Nannies by Nature.
Protect children & privacy
Prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing, follow child-safety requirements, and keep family information strictly confidential.
Use the platform for bookings
Make all bookings and changes through Nannies by Nature.
